Instructional Technology Passport System (ITPS)
The Instructional Technology Passport System (ITPS) is a system of teacher education requirements designed to promote ethical and effective us of instructional technology by teacher candidates at Illinois State University. The goal of the system is to help teacher candidates and their future students deal more adequately with technology that is having a greater impact on both educational processes and society.
The IPS competencies represent integrated performance tasks derived from standards established by the Illinois State Board of Education (pdf). Other technology standards related to education include the International Society for Technology in Education's National Educational Technology Standards.
