Student Teaching Information for Special Education Majors

Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH)

You will have two nine-week placements during the student teaching semester. One student teaching placement will be assigned within one hour driving distance from your residence, if possible. Your other assignment will either be a residential placement or an oral placement out of state, depending on interest and availability.

Download and print the application packet of forms (pdf). Please bring this packet to your orientation meeting. You will be sent information regarding the orientation meeting by the Department of Special Education.

Certification

Your requirements for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Certification will be met in your clinical experience sites (including elementary and secondary grade levels; and academic, behavior, and adaptive classroom types).
