Cecilia J. Lauby Teacher Education Center
The bridge between your coursework and your career
The Cecilia J. Lauby Teacher Education Center assists you with all of your teacher education needs.
Located in DeGarmo Hall, Room 56, the Center houses the advisors for Teaching and Learning and Special Education. In addition, Clinical Experience coordinators make thousands of placements for teacher education students to acquire pre-student teaching and student teaching experiences in Illinois public schools. A diversity specialist is on staff to assist students and programs in gaining experiences in a variety of settings with all types of children and adolescents. Dedicated staff provide hands-on training for electronic portfolio development in our new Teacher Education Portfolio Lab.
Behind the scenes, the Lauby Teacher Education Center manages the performance based assessment system, data collection and dissemination, and national accreditation work to ensure the quality of teacher education programs at Illinois State.
